Files in .openship/workflows/ and standalone definitions are scheduled by Openship and executed with act. Manual, repository-event, and scheduled triggers use Openship permissions, capacity, and run history without GitHub's Actions scheduler.
Files in .github/workflows/ stay coordinated by GitHub. Official runners execute matching jobs on your selected destinations, while GitHub manages workflow credentials, protected environments, and results. Independent mode has documented compatibility boundaries.
